SportsCenter will be live from Louisville on Wednesday

This summer, SportsCenter is traveling across America, broadcasting live from a different state each day for 50 consecutive days. This week, they’re swinging through the Bluegrass. On Wednesday, SportsCenter will be live from the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum with Kentucky native Michael Eaves as the lead anchor. The episode will air at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Eaves grew up in Hopkins County and was a multi-sport athlete at South Hopkins High School, playing baseball, football, basketball, and golf. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky in 1994 and spent seven years at WKYT as a sports reporter and producer before moving to Memphis. Eaves joined ESPN in 2015 and most often anchors the nighttime editions of SportsCenter. He’s very excited to bring the show to his old Kentucky home this week.

According to ESPN, each “50 States in 50 Days” show spotlights “local rivalries, community traditions, and the many ways sports unite fans across the country.” Hopefully, that means we’ll get some Louisville vs. Kentucky talk, along with whatever Louisville Slugger museum content they come up with. May I suggest a sit-down with Mark Pope and Pat Kelsey? As a proud UK alum, I bet Eaves can make that happen.

SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days Schedule

Here’s the entire 50 States in 50 Days schedule if you really want to plan your SportsCenter viewing schedule for the rest of the summer. Tomorrow’s show is whitewater rafting in the Grand Canyon, so Kentucky’s got quite an act to follow.
