Fantastic ending to one of the best weekends of the year.
Filled with tradition and excitement, the first Saturday in May is always a sacred day in the Bluegrass State and this year’s Kentucky Derby didn’t hold back on either.
Kentuckians all across the state spent their Saturday indulged in mint juleps, traditional food and good company as they patiently awaited the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby.
The annual event isn’t only a major day for Kentuckians, but also draws celebrities from all over the world to Louisville for both some of the greatest southern fashion and thrilling couple of minutes in all of sports.
Thrilling doesn’t even come close to the ending of Saturday’s race, though, as the Derby saw another surprise finish for the ages. Mystik Dan saw an opportunity on the final stretch and closed the gap to edge out Sierra Leone and Forever Young.

Edge out is pretty much the only way to describe the finish, too, as Saturday provided one of the best photo finishes in the 150 years of running the Kentucky Derby.
