Well, La Familia’s just going to have to beat The Ville at Freedom Hall again.
The Ville, Louisville’s alumni team in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), was the first host team to sell 4,000 tickets, meaning they’ve secured home court advantage for the entire event. Should La Familia, Kentucky’s alumni team, win the Lexington Regional and The Ville win the Louisville Regional, the two teams would once again meet in Freedom Hall for the quarterfinals on July 29, a rematch of last summer’s showdown. I’m sure you remember that La Familia won that game 70-61 in front of a record-breaking crowd of 14,506 fans at Freedom Hall. The Cards were so upset that Chinanu Onuaku spat on Nate Sestina, and Drew Franklin got punched in the throat by a disgruntled fan.
Ticket sales still matter! The next host team to sell 4,000 tickets will be No. 2 in the home court advantage rankings, and so on and so on through all eight regional sites. If The Ville loses their regional and La Familia wins theirs, the quarterfinal game will be hosted in Lexington. The site of the semifinals and the championship game will be decided by who finished higher in the home court advantage rankings. So, if La Familia is the next team to sell 4,000 tickets, they could still host.

Go ahead and practice those Ls Down for when La Familia runs it back vs. The Ville at Freedom Hall. And maybe pack a helmet.
