Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno both land in the top 30
247 Sports released its final recruiting rankings for the 2025 class.
The Kentucky Wildcats’ two high school commitments, Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno, both land in the top 30. Johnson saw his ranking fall four spots, coming in at 24th overall between Duke commitment Cayden Boozer and now Miami commitment Shelton Henderson.
Malachi Moreno rose one spot to 27th overall.
Croatian big man Andrija Jelavic ís a member of Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting class, but 247 noted due to so many international players making the leap to college basketball, only international prospects who played some version of high school basketball within the last year are included in the rankings.
“Simply put, evaluating a 21 or 22-year-old international prospect on film alone is vastly different than evaluating a player that we’ve scouted in person for multiple years,” wrote 247’s Adam Finkelstein.
Nationally, the biggest story from the recruiting rankings is 247 moving Kansas commitment Darryn Peterson to the top of the list. AJ Dybantsa has long been viewed as the #1 prospect, but Peterson has been making a push, and other services have decided to move Peterson to #1 as well. There’s a good argument that Peterson, Dybantsa, or Cameron Boozer have an argument for the top spot.

Kentucky and Louisville will play the basketball game before they play the football game next season. Feels weird. I don’t like it.
