Stokes is a consensus top-five recruit in the 2026 class.
With the Kentucky Wildcats finalizing the 2025-26 basketball roster, much of their recruiting focus now gets turned to the high school class of 2026.
It just so happens that arguably the best player in the class has extensive ties to the state of Kentucky, and he’ll soon be taking a visit to Lexington.
According to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, 5-star small forward Tyran Stokes has scheduled an official visit to Kentucky for May 15-17. Stokes recently completed visits with the Louisville Cardinals and Kansas Jayhawks.
Now playing for Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, Stokes was born in Louisville and lived there until he was nine years old, so he’s very familiar with the Bluegrass. He previously played for Prolific Prep alongside top-ranked class of 2025 recruit AJ Dybantsa.
At 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds, Stokes is already a highly imposing player who seems destined to make a major impact in what will likely be just one season of college basketball. He’s ranked No. 1 overall in his class by On3, 247 Sports, and ESPN, while Rivals has him listed second overall.
In addition to Kentucky, Louisville, and Kansas, Stokes holds additional scholarship offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Houston Cougars, Auburn Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, and UCLA Bruins, among many others.
Big one to watch for.
