Former Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis is one of the hottest names on NFL draft boards, and one draft writer believes Davis should be a top-10 pick tomorrow night.
Though projected as a late-first-rounder by most forecasters, Davis hears his name called ninth overall to the Denver Broncos in a new “What Teams ‘Should’ Do Mock Draft.” Pete Prisco over at CBSSports.com drew up a new mock based on what he believes teams should do with each pick, and he thinks Davis should be Denver’s selection to fill a weakness on defense. This is the writer’s opinion, not a prediction of what will happen.
In this scenario, I have them sticking with Drew Lock for another year. He did throw seven touchdown passes against two picks in his final four games, which makes me intrigued. I like Davis more than Micah Parsons, which is why he would be my pick. Adding a big-time playmaking linebacker to their defense could really make it special. [CBSSports.com]
A more realistic scenario, Davis is a first-round draft pick but waits until Cleveland dials his number at No. 26. He is also a real option at No. 19 to Washington, at No. 24 to Pittsburgh or to either New Orleans or Green Bay at No. 28 and 29.
Ninth would be awesome though.
Do it, Denver.
