Kentucky will try to build on in-state recruiting momentum by securing commitments from a pair of talented brothers from south of the border. The only thing standing between Mark Stoops’ Wildcats and the Wade twins is new Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel.
Destin Wade revealed on Twitter that he will announce his college decision alongside his twin brother, Keaten Wade, on Friday, April 16 at 5 pm ET at Summit High School in Spring Hill, Tn. The two recently shrunk their list of finalists to four: Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia.
Who will they pick? It depends which recruiting service you prefer.
This week multiple predictions have been made across the 247 Sports and Rivals networks. 247’s big wig, Steve Wiltfong, has a high confidence Crystal Ball pick for each Wade brother to Tennessee. A Tennessee website publisher is the only other Crystal Ball pick, of course siding with Tennessee.
On the Rivals network the script is completely flipped. Five analysts, including head honcho Mike Farrell, predict Keaten Wade will attend Kentucky. Kentucky is also the unanimous choice for Destin Wade in the Rivals FutureCast.
If Rivals wins the recruiting service showdown, Steve Clinkscale will enjoy another monumental recruiting victory. Keaten Wade is a top 20 outside linebacker, considered the No. 156 overall player in America by Rivals. Destin Wade plays QB for his high school team, but is most likely a defensive back at the next level, considered a four-star prospect and the No. 23 athlete in America. It could be a great Friday for the BBN and it may not be the only big UK commitment over the next two weeks.
