Kentucky loses a second walk-in in as many days.
The Kentucky Wildcats’ roster for next season is just about set, but there’s now a question mark regarding the walk-ons.
On Monday, Grant Darbyshire entered the transfer portal.
Then on Tuesday, fellow walk-on Walker Horn also entered the portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos (via KSR).
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Horn first joined the Wildcats ahead of the 2022-23 season under then-head coach John Calipari. Since then, the Texas native has appeared in 13 games and did not score a point.
This past season, Horn appeared in five games (Wright State, Jackson State, Brown, LSU, and Troy), recording an assist against Brown.
Horn is the son of Northern Kentucky coach Darrin Horn, who was previously the head coach at South Carolina.
These defections come as we await the results of the House settlement, which could limit basketball rosters to 15 players total, including walk-ons. Kentucky
If Otega Oweh pulls out of the NBA Draft, Kentucky would be at 13 players now, 14 if you include walk-on Zach Tow.
