After a year of fan interaction being limited to shouts from the stands of limited capacity venues and social media posts, Kentucky standout linemen Landon Young and Drake Jackson finally got to interact with the Big Blue Nation again on Friday.
In a meet-and-greet autograph signing party at KSBar & Grille, Young and Jackson talked with fans, answered questions and took pictures before they head to the NFL.
“To be able to have a chance after a COVID year to get out, shake some hands, say hi, answer some questions,” Young told KSR at the event. “It’s just been good to hear people who have supported us since 2016, got pictures of us since before we even got to UK, and especially all the young kids who come up to us and say, “I want to be like you when I play football,” stuff like that, that’s what this is for.
“I’m gonna miss the BBN, one of the most supportive groups across the whole nation.”
“We were really looking forward to this because all season long, we had no Cat Walk, we had no interaction with fans, and that’s probably the most fun part of being a college football player,” Jackson added. “Meeting the fans, talking football with them, answering questions that they have, just being there to talk to them, because I remember being a fan growing up.”
