The Dallas Cowboys were bleeding blue this weekend. Jerry Jones and company not only hit up the phone lines of former UK cornerback Kelvin Joseph in the 2021 NFL Draft, they also gave Mr. Quinton Bohanna a ring when they selected him with the 192nd pick.
It was a very special moment for the All-SEC defensive tackle, and the Cowboys’ social media team captured it for our viewing pleasure.
It appears Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy had his eye on Bohanna all throughout the draft process and jumped at the chance to select him in the sixth round.

While Bohanna doesn’t figure to add much to the Cowboys pass rush in his rookie season, he could serve as an important rotational piece in early down situations as a run stuffer. Here’s what Dane Brugler of The Athletic had to say about Q’s fit in the Big D:
Bohanna is a role-specific prospect and offers minimal pass rush value, but he is a short-area space-eater who can maintain his spot. He projects as a rotational two-gapping nose tackle.
Bohanna led some nice Kentucky defenses in his four seasons as a Wildcat, not only as a key contributor on the field but also as an emotional leader. It seems he landed in a spot that has faith in him to develop into the same kind of player as a pro.
