Some big updates for Kentucky Football’s future QB room.
Good morning, BBN!
We are finally moving on from the Vince Marrow news to real recruiting news for Kentucky Wildcats football.
With that said, there have been some big developments with current QB targets for UK.
First, Adam Luckett has officially submitted a pick for Kentucky to land the 4-star 2026 QB Matt Ponatoski.
This would be a massive get for the Cats following all the negative news surrounding the team over the last week, and would make a big statement to other teams that the Cats aren’t going quietly.
Ponatoski is from Cincinnati and is currently holding offers from teams like Alabama and Oregon. It’ll be interesting to see if the Cats can actually land him. A decision could come after Ponataski participates in the upcoming Elite 11 event.
In other not-so-great news, Ole Miss has now added the current 2027 QB commit DJ Hunter to their offer list.
Although Hunter committed to Kentucky in April, his recruitment is heating up, and the Wildcats may need to fend off other major programs to keep him.
If nothing else, it is nice to see a Kentucky QB commit being pursued by one of college football’s best offensive minds in Lane Kiffin.
We’ll see how things play out before he kicks off his junior season.
