Panoam hails from Anchorage, Alaska, went to high school in Georgia, and spent a year at Tulane before transferring to North Dakota. Now he finds himself heading to Xavier with two years of college eligibility remaining.
Panoam is an athletic, physical guard who can work on or off the ball. He averaged 13.0/5.8/2.4 last year at North Dakota on .455/.222/.711 shooting. He’s not a great shooter, but he is good at getting to the line and he shot 75% from the stripe in conference play. At 6’2″, 200, he’s stout and strong, and his ability to get into the lane and create for himself and others is a big part of his game.
He profiles as a solid defender, and his efficiency last year was blunted by being a very high usage player. If he can bring his shooting along, he’ll be a huge asset for Xavier.
