Xavier made it! The Muskies will have a game sometime on Wednesday against the Texas Longhorns in the 11/11 play-in game in the Midwest. It was the most absolutely gut churning wait for Xavier fans, but the Muskies are in, and that’s all that matters.

Xavier ended the year at 43rd in the KenPom rankings. In 44th? That’s right, Texas. The Longhorns were 19-15 on the year, starting 11-2 before going 6-12 in conference and needing two wins in the SEC tournament this weekend to do just enough to make it.

Since January 8, Xavier is 12-4 and has played like a top 25 team according to the Torvik rankings. Texas has been 8-11 in that time and sits at exactly 50th. This is one of the hottest teams in the country against one that has been staggering for a solid couple of months.

That’s a discussion for another day though. For the moment, Xavier is in, and that’s all that matters.
