After one of the craziest games you are likely to see in your lifetime being played last night that saw both teams score eight runs in the 8th inning and then go to extras, Atlanta and Cincinnati are back on the field 14 hours later for an afternoon tilt. The Reds will be looking to even up the series after the Braves came out on top in last night’s affair. First pitch today is scheduled for 12:40pm ET. Brady Singer
This season has seen Brady Singer have two big clunkers for starts that have resulted in 14 earned runs in 4.2 innings. Outside of those two outings he’s been quite solid for the Reds. one of those clunkers came on July 21st. But he rebounded with one of his best starts of the year last time out when he gave up one run and struck out eight batters in 7.1 innings.
The splits for Singer this year are pretty big. Left-handed hitters are hitting for a solid average, and they are hitting for plenty of power when they do get hits. Right-handed hitters aren’t hitting for much average, but they do walk at a good clip. They aren’t finding much power when they do get hits.

Bryce Elder
After being an All-Star in 2023, Bryce Elder has posted a 6.37 ERA in 27 starts since the beginning of 2024. In his last start he allowed eight runs in 2.2 innings in Texas against the Rangers.
The splits are noticeable against Elder this season. Both groups are hitting well against him, but right-handed hitters have a clear advantage. They are hitting like an MVP candidate against him. Lefties are hitting for a solid average, a good on-base percentage, and plenty of power.
