The Cincinnati Reds formally placed Hunter Greene on the IL today, but they welcomed back Austin Hays in the process.
Similarly, they brought back both Will Benson and Chase Petty while shipping underperforming outfielders Blake Dunn and Jacob Hurtubise back to AAA Louisville.
That’s the kind of lineup shuffle that, in theory, would help turn this moribund offense into something more substantial. Maybe?
Anyway, Nick Martinez will toe the rubber tonight as the Reds begin a three-game weekend series against the Astros in Houston. Their ace, Hunter Brown, will start opposite him.
