Go Reds!
The Cincinnati Reds can sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates with a victory on Sunday in Great American Ball Park, and the Reds will have ace Hunter Greene on the mound to start in the attempt. Greene has been simply electric through his first three starts of the 2025 season, ranking among the league’s leaders in bWAR (2nd), ERA (7th), WHIP (3rd), H/9 (5th), and IP (4th) entering play today.
The Reds also sit at 7-8 overall on the season, so a win today would eek them back to the .500 mark for the first time since March 31st. Depending on how the Milwaukee Brewers finish their game against the Diamondbacks in Arizona later today, there’s also the chance that the Reds could find themselves in a tie for 2nd place in the National League Central at day’s end, too.
Of course, all they have to do first is win a baseball game.
Carmen Mlodzinksi gets the start for the Pirates in the series finale, so the Reds will face a RHP as the starter for the first time this series. Their starting lineup reflects that.
First pitch is set for 1:40 PM ET. Go Reds!
