Reds Longest Home Runs of 2025: #3 – Noelvi Marte

December 30, 2025 by Red Leg Nation

Making his first appearance on the list this year is infielder turned outfielder Noelvi Marte. If we learned anything from Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine a generation ago it is that everyone loves the long ball. OK, maybe that was not the exact takeaway from the two Cy Young Award winners, but long home runs have been something people have talked about for over a hundred years. Only in the last decade or so, though, have we truly been able to measure their distance with *some* accuracy. Thanks to ball tracking in the big leagues we can compare 1-to-1 how far a baseball went. Every week for the next few months we’re going to be counting down the 10 longest home runs hit by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2025 season.

Late in August Noelvi Marte hit his 12th home run of the season as the Reds took on the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Story Behind The Blast

The Reds fell behind 1-0 in the top of the 1st inning on a solo home run by Cardinals designated hitter Ivan Herrera.  Noelvi Marte fell behind 0-1 to Matthew Liberatore but the second pitch of the at-bat was a fastball that Marte seemed ready for. Liberatore located it exactly where his catcher called for it but Marte is the one who caught all of it as he sent it 444 feet into the stands in left-center to tie the game up.

Cincinnati took the lead later in the inning, but the game was back-and-forth. Both teams would score a run in the 8th inning to keep things tied up and things would go into extras. That’s where the St. Louis would score twice and the Reds would go down quietly in what turned into a 7-5 loss for the home team.

For Noelvi Marte, the home run was his 5th of the month and made it two games in a row with a homer. The day capped off a big 3-week heater for Marte who hit .360/.392/.667 with 12 extra-base hits in 18 games from August 9th through the 29th.
