Spring Game Thread: Seattle Mariners vs Cincinnati Reds

March 16, 2025 by Red Leg Nation

The Cincinnati Reds will be looking to get things back on the right track this afternoon. They’ve dropped five games in a row and are 3-9 in their last 12 games. Today they will host the Seattle Mariners at 4:05pm ET in Goodyear.

Mariners (6-16-1) and Reds (9-12-1) Lineups

Reserve players on today’s Reds roster

* denotes that they are expected to pitch today

Pitchers Infielders
Taylor Rogers* Ruben Ibarra
Bryan Shaw* Ivan Johnson
Ian Gibaut* Noelvi Marte
Joe La Sorsa* Dominic Pitelli
Lenny Torres Jr.* Carlos Sanchez
Brock Bell Davis Wendzel
Sam Benschoter Outfielders
Evan Kravetz Ariel Almonte
Catchers Stuart Fairchild
Cade Hunter Esmith Pineda
Ryan McCrystal Malvin Valdez
Sal Stewart is listed on the travel roster for the Reds today as distributed by the media relations department. But Stewart is also in the starting lineup for this evening’s Spring Breakout game, which is being played at a different ballpark. My guess is this is an error on the big league travel roster.

Where to watch/listen/follow the game

There is no option to watch the game today outside of buying a ticket to watch at the stadium. The game will be on 700 WLW if you want to listen. If you’re looking to follow along on gameday, here is your link for that.

News and Notes

Alex Young sent to minor league camp

The Reds made another cut today, sending left-handed reliever Alex Young back to the minor leagues. He had allowed six runs in 3.0 innings this spring. If you want to read a little more, we’ve got you covered right here from our piece earlier today.

The Spring Breakout is tonight

The final game of the 2025 Spring Breakout series is going to feature the Reds prospects versus the Brewers prospects. That game is scheduled for tonight at 7:40pm ET. You will be able to watch the game on MLB Network. It will also be available on any internet connected device for free on MLB.tv.
